SERIES HISTORY
This will be only the second meeting between the two teams in Huntsville. The Blazers lead the all-time series against the Bulldogs 14-0.
LAST TIME OUT
UAB fell on the road at Arkansas State on Saturday, 87-68. Yaxel Lendeborg led the Blazers in nearly every statistical category with 17 points, 10 boards, five assists, five blocks and one steal while Tony Toney added a season high 10 points. UAB shot only 34.5 percent from the field in the second half and 0-for-10 from three.
GETTING COMFORTABLE
Yaxel Lendeborg is beginning to find his rhythm in his debut season at UAB. The junior forward had a breakout game on the offensive end against Furman where he filled up the stat sheet with 19 points, 10 rebounds, five blocks, three assists and two steals, all while shooting 8-for-10 from the field. Earlier in the week against Middle Tennessee, Lendeborg scored nine points while grabbing 12 rebounds and blocking three shots. So far this season, he has blocked a shot in every game. The 6'9" forward is averaging 8.3 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game early in his career.
PROTECTING THE RIM
The Blazers have blocked 44 shots over their first eight games of the season, led by Yaxel Lendeborg with 21 rejections. UAB blocked at least five shots in four straight games from Nov. 12-25, its longest such streak since the 2015-16 season. Eight different players have blocked at least one shot this season.
