UAB Women’s Basketball Hosts Alabama A&M in Season Opener

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's basketball team opens the 2023-24 season on Monday, Nov. 6, at Bartow Arena against Alabama A&M. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
The Blazers enter the 11th season under the direction of Head Coach Randy Norton who has a career record of 1771-129 at UAB.
UAB returns nine players from last year's team that finished 14-17 overall and have added five new faces to the roster.
The Blazers had five players score in double figures against Shorter in their one and only exhibition game of the season, which was a 71-60 victory. Kylee Schneringer led the team with 15 points, while true freshman Jade Weathersby had a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
The Bulldogs are coming off a 2022-23 season in which they finished 14-15 overall and 12-6 in conference play. Junior Amiah Simmons is the team's leading returning scorer at 10.1 points per game.
Women's basketball season tickets are available for $65 by purchasing the 2023-24 Gold Card. The Gold Card will allows access to all home events for Women's Soccer, Men's Soccer, Volleyball, Women's Basketball, Softball and Baseball (Regions Field & Young Memorial). This card is not valid for American Athletic Conference Championship events or NCAA Championship events.
