Women’s Basketball Hosts Jacksonville State on Monday

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's basketball team continues its homestand inside Bartow Arena as the Blazers host in-state foe Jacksonville State on Monday night. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
UAB enters the contest at 4-1 overall and is 3-0 at Bartow Arena this season. The Blazers are in the midst of playing four home games in eight days and are coming off a 78-68 victory over Valparaiso on Saturday.
Mia Moore continues to pace the Blazers after notching her third 20+ point outing last game out with 21 against Valpo. The sophomore guard is averaging 19.6 points and 8.2 rebounds per game, while shooting 59 percent from the floor.
The Blazers had four players score in double figures and shot a season-best 60 percent in the win. Freshman Jade Weathersby scored a career-high 17 points and Demin DeShields dished out seven assists to increase her AAC leading assists per game average to 6.4.
Jacksonville State enters the contest riding a two-game winning streak and is 2-3 overall. The Gamecocks are coming off victories over Alabama-Huntsville (67-53) and Life University (83-81). Kristol Ayson is the team's leading scorer at 10.0 points per game.
