Four Blazers Finish in Double Figures as UAB WBB Downs Valporaiso

BIRMINGHAM – UAB Women's Basketball (4-1) shot a season-high 60 percent from the field in a 78-68 win over Valporaiso (0-4). Mia Moore led the Blazers with 21 points, nine rebounds and four assists.
Four different Blazers finished in double figures, including freshman Jade Weathersby who finished with a career best 17 points. Kylee Schneringer scored 11 points while Maddie Walsh added 10.
The Blazers held a slight advantage at the end of the first half, leading 40-36. However, UAB was able to take control with a big third quarter after opening the period on a 9-0 run.
Valpo cut the UAB lead to just three points with seven minutes to go, but the Blazers answered with an 8-0 run over the next three minutes to take a commanding 66-55 lead.
UAB will be back in action on Monday, November 27 at 6 p.m. CT against Jacksonville State.
