BIRMINGHAM - UAB men's basketball (14-7, 5-5 C-USA) goes on the road to face Rice (15-5, 6-3 C-USA) on Saturday at 2 p.m. CT in the first meeting between the two teams this season.

SERIES HISTORY
UAB holds an 18-3 lead in the all-time series, including a 7-2 advantage in Houston. The Owls defeated the Blazers, 85-80, in UAB's last visit to the Tudor Fieldhouse. The Blazers returned the favor at Bartow Arena in Rice's return trip.
LAST TIME OUT
In the final regular season meeting with Louisiana Tech as conference foes, the Blazers came from behind to secure a 65-59 win over the Bulldogs. LA Tech's 59 points are the fewest allowed by UAB against a Division I foe during the 2022-23 season. Eric Gaines led the Blazers offensively with 19 points and six assists while KJ Buffen added 11 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Tony Toney provided a spark off the bench with 11 points, marking the first time he has scored in double figures against a DI opponent.

KJ Buffen has been one of the Blazers' most consistent players this season. He is scoring 10.0 points per game while grabbing 7.0 rebounds per game. Buffen scored a career-high 25 points with eight rebounds in the Blazers' win over South Carolina, leading the team in both categories.
TALL T's DOMINANCE
Trey Jemison has been a force for the Blazers of late, averaging 13.7 points and 10.5 rebounds per game over the last six contests. He matched his previous career high of 17 points at FIU and then set his current career best of 18 points against Middle Tennessee. He has recorded double-doubles in four of the Blazers' last six games.
