Women’s Golf Places 13th at USA Intercollegiate

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's golf team opened the 2022-23 season with a 13th place finish at the USA Intercollegiate hosted by South Alabama at RTJ Magnolia Grove.
Emilia Smith led the Blazers with a 44th place finish at +7 overall (75-74-74). She was four strokes ahead of UAB's next finisher which was Marilyn Steed (71-80-76 = 227, +11, T60). Steed and Karlee Allen (76-76-76 = 228, +12, T63) participated as individuals.
Erika Allen (73-77-80 = 230, +14), placed in a tie for 68th overall, while three UAB freshmen rounded out the lineup with Peyton Costabile (78-74-79 = 231, +15) placing 70th, followed by Grace Sinclair (78-79-75 = 232, +16, T71) and Katrina Gustafssone (78-71-84 = 233, +17, 73rd).
The Blazers return to action at home on Sept. 19-20 as UAB hosts the Hoover Invite at Hoover Country Club.
