Greene Earns Jim Castañeda Conference USA Postgraduate Scholarship Award

DALLAS – UAB baseball senior pitcher Brady Greene has been selected as one of 14 winners of the Jim Castañeda Conference USA Postgraduate Scholarship Award, the league office announced on Thursday.
Greene completed his degree in kinesiology with a 3.73 GPA.
The Montgomery, Alabama native and three-year member of the UAB baseball program is a three-time C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll selection. Greene has spent the past year taking additional classes and participating in clinical hours as he prepares for the UAB School of Dentistry in Fall 2022.
On the field, the right-hander held a perfect 4-0 record in 24 relief appearances. Greene ranked second on the team with 24 pitching appearances, striking out 23 batters while allowing just six walks in 22.2 innings pitched. His 1.15 WHIP and 2.78 ERA both ranked second on the UAB roster.
The 14th annual award is named in honor of Dr. Jim Castañeda who served Rice for 46 years as an educator, coach and Faculty Athletics Representative before he passed away in 2008. Every season, C-USA grants the $4,000 scholarship to distinguished graduates selected by the league's Faculty Athletics Representatives and approved by the Board of Directors.
