UAB Splits Contests with No. 14 South Carolina and Jacksonville

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The UAB beach volleyball team concluded a strong weekend at the Carolina Challenge with a 3-1 overall record after splitting matches with No. 14 South Carolina and Jacksonville on Saturday in Columbia.
The Blazers (8-15) fell 3-2 to No. 14 South Carolina in a closely contested match to open the day, then concluded the tournament with a 5-0 sweep over Jacksonville.
The pair of Rachel Tam and Adriana Pereira won all four of their matches this weekend on court one, as did Ella Alexander and Jessica Ennis on court five. Alexander now owns a team-best 13-10 overall record this year, while Tam and Pereira are 11-11 together on court one.
UAB is back in action next weekend, April 8-9, at the GSU Diggin' Duels where the Blazers will face Austin Peay, Chattanooga, Tampa, and No. 11 Georgia State.
