Beach Volleyball Earns Two Wins on Friday at Georgia State

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB beach volleyball team went 2-0 on the opening day of GSU Diggin' Duals with a 4-1 victory over Austin Peay and a 5-0 victory over Chattanooga in Atlanta.
The wins improve UAB's record to 10-15 overall as the Blazers have now won five of their last six matches.
All four of UAB's wins against Austin Peay came in straight sets, while three of the five wins against Chattanooga were in straight sets.
Rachel Tam and Adriana Pereira were victorious on court one, bringing their record to 13-11 overall on the season. Tam is now just one win shy of tying the UAB career record for court one wins.
Ella Alexander and Jessica Ennis also went 2-0 on court five as Alexander now owns a team-best 15-10 record this season.
The Blazers are back in action on Saturday with contests against the University of Tampa (11 a.m.) and No. 13 Georgia State (3 p.m.). Be sure to follow @UAB_BVB on Twitter and Instagram for updates.
