BIRMINGHAM – The UAB baseball team returns to the diamond on Tuesday as the Blazers travel to Alabama for a midweek non-conference game against the Crimson Tide. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. on SECN+.
The Blazers (22-13) and Crimson Tide (23-14) are meeting for the second time this season with UAB taking the first contest 5-4 at Regions Field.
Sophomore pitcher Leo Harris will get his third start on Tuesday and will go up against Alabama freshman Ben Hess. Harris is 1-1 this season with a 4.91 ERA.
UAB is coming off a series in which it dropped 2-of-3 to defending C-USA Champion Old Dominion. Despite the series loss, UAB claimed the final game of the series and looks to remain in the top half of the C-USA Standings entering the second half of league play.
Josh Sears is one of 12 players in the league to have double-digit home runs as he hit his 10th of the season against ODU. Sears leads the team in home runs and RBI (36). Fellow slugger Christina Hall continues to remain second in Conference USA in batting and enters Tuesday's game with a .393 average.
Alabama is running a $2 Tuesday promotion with $2 reserves tickets for all fans, along with $2 hotdogs at concession stands.
Following the midweek at Alabama, UAB then travels to Charlotte for a three-game series beginning Friday night.
