Beach Volleyball Travels to Columbia for Carolina Challenge

BIRMINGHAM β Following a weekend off, the UAB beach volleyball team resumes action this weekend with four matches at the Carolina Challenge hosted by the University of South Carolina.

The Blazers open action on Friday with contests against UNC Wilmington and No. 19 Stetson, and conclude play on Saturday with No. 14 South Carolina and Jacksonville.

UAB last played two weeks at the March To May in Gulf Shores against six nationally ranked opponents. In the tournament finale against No. 1 UCLA, the Blazers fell 5-0 but saw two of five courts go three sets.

Playing Stetson and South Carolina mark the 11th and 12th nationally ranked opponents the Blazers have faced this season. UAB looks to notch its first win over a ranked opponent this weekend.
