UAB Competes at the Columbia 300 Music City Classic

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB bowling team hits the road for the Columbia 300 Music City Classic, hosted by Vanderbilt. The three-day event runs from Friday through Sunday at the Smyrna Bowling Center.
The tournament will follow the standard NCAA format with five 5-game baker matches on Friday, five traditional team games on Saturday and three best-of-seven baker matches for Sunday's bracket play. To view the tournament central page, click here.
Competing with the Blazers this weekend is 19 of the nation's Top 25 team: No. 1 McKendree, No. 2 Nebraska, No. 3 Sam Houston State, No. 4 Vanderbilt, No. 5 North Carolina A&T, No. 6 Arkansas State, No. 7 Louisiana Tech, No. 8 Stephen F. Austin, No. 9 Youngstown State, No. 12 Maryville, No. 16 Sacred Heart, No. 17 Maryland-Eastern Shore, No. 18 Wisconsin-Whitewater, No. 20 Long Island-Brooklyn, No. 21 Lewis, No. 22 Lincoln Memorial, No. 23 Central Missouri and No. 24 Monmouth.
Also competing are Alabama A&M, Alabama State, Aurora, Carroll, Carthage, Drury, Emmanuel, Jackson State, Kentucky Wesleyan, North Central College, Spalding, Tusculum and Valparaiso.
The last time out, the Blazers placed fifth the second MEAC competition of the season. Elise London paced UAB with a 185.8 average over the two days.
Following the Music City Classic, UAB will continue postseason play at the MEAC Championships in Chesapeake, Va. on March 25-27.
