BIRMINGHAM β The UAB baseball team host in-state foe Jacksonville State for a midweek matchup on Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Young Memorial Field.

Tuesday's matchup marks the first of two meetings between the programs this season. It is also the 68th time both teams have met with Jacksonville State leading the all-time series, 39-28. However, the Blazers lead the series in Birmingham, 18-16.

THE LAST TIME OUT
The Blazers secured its fourth straight series of the season after a 2-1 series victory over Belmont. The first two games of the series were decided by one-run with Belmont winning the first game 2-1 and the Blazers bounced back with a 9-8 decision in game two. UAB clinched the series with a 6-3 win on Sunday.

Darryl Buggs had a career game in the second game of the Friday doubleheader. In the contest, Buggs recorded six RBI β including his first career grand slam. The six RBI were the first for a Blazer batter since 2015.

ABOUT THE BLAZERS
At the plate, the Blazers are led by Christian Hall with a .408 batting average. On the season, Hall has recorded 20 hits with two doubles, two triples, three home runs and 16 RBI. Hall also has 11 runs scored this season.
