UAB Men's Tennis Falls 7-0 at Alabama

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The UAB men's tennis team dropped its Saturday night matchup at Alabama 7-0 in the Crimson Tide's Roberta Alison Baumgardner Tennis Facility.
After dropping the doubles point to open the match, Roman Postolka earned a dominant opening-set victory in singles play with a 6-0 win on court three. Alabama's German Samofalov, however, rallied with a 7-6 (7-5) win in the second set before outlasting Postolka in the tiebreaker 1-0 (10-5).
Nikola Puric battled back and forth with the Tide's Zach Foster on court five, dropping both sets by a 7-5 scoreline. Vojtech Podzemny also forced his opening set past six games as Alabama's Joao Ferreira finished the matchup with a 7-5, 6-2 win on court four.
In doubles play, Thanos Spyropoulos and Michal Lusovsky teamed up on court one, Postolka and Puric paired together on court two and Parker Bradbary and Martin Vasquez teamed up on court three.
Up next, UAB will head South to take on South Alabama on Wednesday. Wednesday afternoon's match in Mobile will be played at 2 p.m. at the Bruce David Lubel Memorial Tennis Courts.
