Women’s Golf Places Sixth at Tchefuncta Invitational

BIRMINGHAM – Led by Karlee Allen who tied for 19th overall, the UAB women's golf team placed sixth at the Tchefuncta Invitational in Covington, Louisiana.
Allen shot 78-74-78 = 230, +17 to lead the Blazers and notched her second top 20 finish of the season in the process.
Marilyn Steed finished one stroke behind Allen and had her best finish of the season by tying for 21st overall. Steed shot 78-75-78 = 231, +18.
Emilia Smith (80-82-72 = 234, +21) had the low round of any Blazer on the final 18 holes (72, +1) which moved her up 11 spots on Tuesday as she tied for 33rd overall.
Erika Allen (74-85-77 = 236, +23) was UAB's fourth finisher as she tied for 36th, and Lexie Dawson (82-76-82 = 240, +27) rounded out the lineup by tying for 42nd overall.
As a team, UAB shot +70. South Alabama (+31) won the event and was followed by Southern Miss (+44), Incarnate Word (+48), Little Rock (+51) and ULM (+61) who rounded out the top five.
The Blazers return to the course in two weeks when they participate in the SMU Trinity Forest Invitational.
