Women's Golf Places Fourth at The Braun Intercollegiate

BIRMINGHAM - The UAB women's golf team had its best team result of the season with a fourth-place finish at the Braun Intercollegiate this week at Oak Meadow Golf Club in Evansville, Ind.
Sophomore Chloe Ruble (74+83=157, +13) led the team in a tournament that was only able to finish two rounds. Ruble tied for 14th overall out of 68 competitors. Her teammates, senior Anna Krieger (79+79=158, +14) and junior Maria Escobar (80+78=158, +14), finished a few spots behind, both tying for 17th overall.
True freshmen Lauren Paige Slatton (82+77=159, +15) finished tied for 24th and Annika Gomeyac (79+84=163, +19) finished 37th, rounding out the team participants.
Freshman Gabby Hultstrand (86+81=167) competed in the tournament as an individual competitor, finishing in sole possession of 50th place.
Belmont won the competition and had the winning individual as Chloe Tarkany took the title at +1. Belmont had three players finish inside the top five.
The Blazers have one tournament fall tournament remaining, which comes next weekend in Huntsville, Ala. for The Robbie, hosted by Lipscomb.
