UAB Rifle Places Two in Top Five of Saturday's NCAA Qualifier Match at Georgia Southern

STATESBORO, Ga. – Amy Kohan and Sophia Flores each earned top-five finishes in Saturday's match against Georgia Southern at NCAA Qualifiers.
Kohan paced the Blazers in the smallbore (573), air rifle (586) and individual aggregate (1,159) for the fifth straight match, finishing third in smallbore, fifth in air rifle and third in individual aggregate. Flores tallied an individual aggregate score of 1,141 to place fifth, recording a fifth-place score of 564 in the smallbore and sixth-place mark of 577 in the air rifle standings.
Jordan Blankenship finished seventh overall and third amongst the Blazers with a score of 1,123, finishing eighth overall in the smallbore (556) and ninth overall in the air rifle (567) in Saturday's competition. Maggie Vonderau (1,122), Blake Wingard (1,090) and Tommy Loring (1,058) rounded out the Blazers finishing inside the top 10, placing eighth, ninth and 10th, respectively.
UAB's team score of 4,545 will be averaged with its top three scores – at Jacksonville State (4,578), at Murray State (4,572) and at Wofford (4,571) – for its complete qualifier score.
The Blazers will return to the range at the SoCon Championships in Lexington, Virginia, on March 5-6.
