Kohan Finishes Third Overall in Wednesday's Dual Match at Jacksonville State

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – Amy Kohan posted a team-best air rifle score of 590 to help her place third overall in the UAB rifle team's dual match at Jacksonville State on Wednesday.
Kohan, a junior from Arlington, Virginia, matched her season-best aggregate score of 1,167 with 590 in the air rifle and 577 in the smallbore. The junior's tally of 590 in the air rifle ranks as the top mark by a UAB shooter this season.
Maggie Vonderau finished eighth overall with an aggregate score of 1,147, finishing just one point shy of tying her season-high of 1,148 set at VMI on Nov. 13. Vonderau's air rifle score of 579 tied a season-high.
Jacksonville State took home first place in Wednesday's match with a team aggregate score of 4,666. Kim Jettenberg paced all shooters with an individual aggregate score of 1,171. The Blazers finished with a team aggregate score of 4,534, which is the lowest team tally of the season.
UAB will conclude its February schedule with Saturday's NCAA Qualifiers in Statesboro, Georgia. Saturday's competition is set to begin at 7 a.m. CT. The Blazers will then conclude their 2021-22 season at the SoCon Championships in Lexington, Virginia, on March 5-6.
