UAB Men’s Golf to Compete in Mobile Bay Intercollegiate

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB men's golf team heads to Mobile, Ala., on Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 14-15, for the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate tournament hosted by the University of South Alabama at Magnolia Grove Golf Club.
The Blazers enter their second tournament of the spring as the highest ranked team in Conference USA at No. 49 nationally, and are coming off a fourth place finish at the Sea Best Invitational in which they finished ahead of No. 9 Texas A&M and No. 33 Louisville.
This week's field consists of UAB, Davidson, Florida State, No. 20 Illinois, Kansas State, Kent State, Louisiana, Memphis, Miami (OH), South Alabama, Southern Miss, Texas State, Toledo and WKU.
Head Coach Matt Whall will field the same line up as the Sea Best Invitational in sophomore Khavish Varadan, senior Nick Robillard, senior Alfie Fox, junior Ethan Hagood and freshman Paul Bruce.
Varadan enters the event as the nation's 35th-ranked golfer and boasts a stroke average of 69.5. Nick Robillard, the reigning C-USA Golfer of the Year, also ranked top 100 at No. 75 and has a 70.1 stroke average. Both Varadan and Robillard tied for 15th at the Sea Best Invitational last week.
The field will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday. Magnolia Grove Crossings will play. Live results can be found by clicking here.
