UAB Men’s Golf Places Fourth at Sea Best Invitational

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – The No. 51 UAB men's golf team moved up a spot on the leaderboard in the final 18 holes of the Sea Best Invitational to place fourth in a tough field at TPC Sawgrass – Dye's Valley.
UAB finished the tournament at +17 overall and placed behind No. 42 Florida (+6), No. 25 Liberty (+12) and No. 49 North Florida (+13). With a record of 9-3 this week, UAB moves to 42-12-0 on the year.
Sophomore Khavish Varadan (70-72-72 = 214) and redshirt senior Nick Robillard (69-70-75 = 214) led the charge for the Blazers after finishing in a tie for 15th at +4.
Alfie Fox (71-73-72 = 216, +6), Ethan Hagood (76-75-66 = 217, +7) and Paul Bruce (72-75-75 = 222, +12) rounded out the top five for UAB. Hagood moved up 33 spots in the final round after shooting four-under (66), which was the second lowest round of the tournament.
John Racciatti (78-73-74 = 225, +15), playing as an individual, finished in a tie for 63rd.
The Blazers return to the course on Feb. 14-15 in Mobile, Ala. at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate.
