BIRMINGHAM – Brooks Rice scored a goal with just five seconds remaining to help UAB (2-6-2, 0-2-2 AAC) secure a 2-2 draw against South Florida (2-3-3, 1-0-2 AAC), their second in a row in AAC play. Rice and Nathaniel St. Louis each provided a goal for the Blazers and Jack Hudson made five saves to pace the Blazers.

South Florida got on the board in the first half, scoring a goal in the 35th minute when Jeffrey Copper connected with Jerome Barclay's cross to make it 1-0.

After Jack Hudson made three critical saves in the 57th minute, the Blazers tied it up. Mayno Linares was driving along the endline when he was taken down from behind. Nathaniel St. Louis converted from the penalty spot to put the score level at 1-1.

The Bulls grabbed the lead once against in the 66th minute when Marcus Victorio found Shion Soga in the box for the go-ahead goal. Just a few minutes later, Jeffrey Copper of USF was issued a red card, giving the Blazers an advantage.

UAB was looking for an equalizer over the last 20 minutes, all the way to the final minute of the contest. After the Blazers could not convert on a free kick just outside of the 18-yard box with 45 seconds to go, UAB regathered and set up one final attack. The ball fell to Zsombor Kalnoki-Kis on the left side of the box before he played it to Rice and Rice's left-footed shot found the back of the net with only five seconds remaining.

NOTES

Nathaniel St. Louis' goal from the penalty spot was the first AAC goal scored in UAB history.
UAB has secured a point in each of its last two conference matches.
The contest marks the fourth multi-goal game of the season for the Blazers.
South Florida leads the all-time series 11-5-1. Wednesday's result is the first draw in the series.
