Blazers Finish Weekend Series With FAU Matchup

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB Volleyball Team returns from Murfreesboro, where they defeated the Blue Raiders 3-0. The Blazers are back on home soil, where they'll take on the FAU Owls on Sunday, Oct. 23 in Bartow Arena.
"So proud of our team and their effort tonight," said head coach Betsy Freeburg on the results of Friday's match. "The team made quick adjustments during the match and there was great trust on the court."

SCOUTING THE OWLS
The Blazers, who played FAU two weeks earlier, dropped their match in a five-set nail-biter, complete with a first set that surpassed the thirty-point mark. FAU stands at the number seven spot in Conference USA, where they sit with a league record of 2-5. The Owls are ranked fifth in the league in hitting percentage with .231 and second in kills with an average of 13.28 per set.
Players to keep an eye on from Florida Atlantic Include Valeria Rosado, who's currently ranked sixth in kills per set with 3.43 and fifth in points with 4.04 per set. Rosado tallied a total of 15 kills in the Owls win over UAB. In addition to Rosado, Katelynn Robine posted a double-double for the Owls with 22 kills and 12 digs.
CROCKIN' AND ROCKIN'
The Blazers will have a Crocs-themed match day in their Sunday matchup. Fans who arrive wearing Crocs will receive a $3 ticket to gain entry into the match.
