BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – UAB Athletics announced its 2026 Hall of Fame class Tuesday, recognizing five former Blazer student-athletes whose accomplishments helped shape the history and tradition of their respective programs.
The 2026 class features Aaron Johnson (men's basketball), Ivana Bozic (volleyball), Rodregis Brooks (football), Carmen Guzman (women's basketball) and Paul Rosner (men's tennis).
The five inductees represent five UAB programs and a distinguished collection of All-Americans, conference players of the year, championship performers and professional athletes. Their collegiate careers span nearly two decades, from Rosner's arrival in 1992 through Johnson's senior season in 2011.
"This is an outstanding group of Blazers who represent the very best of UAB Athletics," said Andy Kennedy, UAB interim athletics director. "Each of these individuals made a lasting impact on their programs, whether through championships, individual honors or helping establish a standard of excellence for those who followed. As a former student-athlete and coach here at UAB, I understand the pride that comes with wearing the Green and Gold, and we're excited to celebrate these five individuals and the legacies they've built."

Aaron Johnson — Men's Basketball (2007-11)
Aaron Johnson established himself as one of the greatest point guards in UAB men's basketball history during his four-year career with the Blazers. Johnson earned Associated Press honorable mention All-America honors in 2011 after leading the nation in assists and guiding UAB to the NCAA Tournament. A Conference USA Player of the Year, two-time All-Conference USA selection and two-time member of the C-USA All-Defensive Team, Johnson finished his career among the program's all-time leaders in assists and steals while becoming known as one of the top floor generals in college basketball.
In 2020, UAB retired his No. 1 jersey, making him just the fourth men's basketball player in program history to receive the honor.
Following his collegiate career, Johnson played professionally overseas for more than a decade, competing in several international leagues, including Poland, France, Lithuania and Israel. He later returned to UAB and joined the men's basketball staff, continuing his involvement with the program as director of player development and performance.
Ivana Bozic — Volleyball (2005-08)
Ivana Bozic became one of the most accomplished volleyball players in UAB history during a standout four-year career with the Blazers. A two-time American Volleyball Coaches Association All-American and two-time AVCA All-Midwest Region selection, Bozic earned three All-Conference USA honors and was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team.
She helped lead UAB to its first Conference USA Tournament championship and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2006, earning Conference USA Tournament MVP honors during the title run. Bozic finished her career among the program's leaders in kills and digs and became one of only a select group of players in school history to surpass both 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs.
After her playing career, Bozic remained involved with UAB Athletics, serving as an assistant coach for the school's inaugural sand volleyball program while also assisting the indoor volleyball team as a manager while completing her MBA.
Rodregis Brooks — Football (1996-99)
Rodregis Brooks was one of the premier defensive backs and return specialists in UAB football history during the program's early Division I era. Brooks earned second-team Associated Press All-America honors in 1999 and was named first-team All-Conference USA while also earning Conference USA Special Teams Player of the Year recognition.
His playmaking ability helped establish UAB football during its formative years at the Division I level.
Following his collegiate career, Brooks became one of the early Blazers selected in the NFL Draft when he was chosen by the Indianapolis Colts in the seventh round of the 2000 NFL Draft with the 238th overall pick. He went on to spend time in the NFL with the Colts and appeared in five games during the 2001 season.
Carmen Guzman — Women's Basketball (2003-07)
Carmen Guzman became one of the most decorated guards in UAB women's basketball history during her four-year career with the Blazers. Guzman earned All-America recognition and was named the 2006-07 Conference USA Player of the Year after leading the Blazers with her scoring, leadership and versatility.
A two-time first-team All-Conference USA selection, Guzman established herself as one of the premier players in the league and helped continue UAB's success during the mid-2000s.
Following her collegiate career, Guzman played professional basketball internationally and later transitioned into coaching and player development roles, remaining active in the sport while mentoring young athletes.
Paul Rosner — Men's Tennis (1992-95)
Paul Rosner was one of the most accomplished doubles players in UAB men's tennis history, earning Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Doubles All-America honors in three consecutive seasons from 1993-95.
Rosner made an immediate impact after arriving at UAB, earning Great Midwest Conference Newcomer of the Year honors while helping elevate the Blazers into national prominence during the mid-1990s. His success in doubles competition established him as one of the top tennis players in program history.
Following his collegiate career, Rosner continued competing professionally and remained involved in the tennis world through coaching, instruction and international competition.
