Blankenship, Kohan Post Season-High Scores in UAB Rifle's Win at Wofford

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The UAB rifle team earned a convincing 4,571-4,325 victory over Wofford on Saturday at the Terriers' Taylor Center Rifle Range.
Four UAB shooters placed in the top five, including Amy Kohan, who topped all shooters with a season-high aggregate score of 1,167.
Kohan ranked first among all shooters with a season-high smallbore score of 579 points. Sophia Flores and Jordan Blankenship tied for second with 567 each. Maggie Vonderau finished fourth with 556.
In the air rifle, Kohan topped all shooters with a score of 588. Vonderau (574), Flores (571) and Blankenship (569) rounded out the top four for the Green and Gold in the air rifle standings.
Blankenship also recorded a season-high aggregate score of 1,136 points behind a season-high mark in the smallbore standings. Blankenship's Saturday score in the smallbore was eight points higher than her previous best this season.
The Blazers will close out their regular season slate Saturday when UAB travels to Jacksonville, Alabama, for a match at Jacksonville State. Saturday's match at the Gamecock Rifle Range is set to begin at 8 a.m.
