UAB Volleyball Completes Exhibition at Jacksonville State

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. — The UAB volleyball team fell to Jacksonville State, 4-1, in an exhibition match on Saturday afternoon at the Pete Mathews Coliseum.
As a team, the Green and Gold recorded 53 kills and five service aces. Sixteen Blazers saw action in today's match.
The Gamecocks took set one, 25-21. UAB bounced back to win set two 25-22 behind a .382 hitting percentage. Jacksonville State took the final two sets 25-14 and 25-17, respectively.
The teams played a fifth set, which JSU won, 15-9.
UAB opens up the regular season at the Troy Preseason Tournament. In the tournament, the Blazers will face Ole Miss on Aug. 28 at 4 p.m. and host institution Troy on Aug. 29 at 2 p.m.
