UAB Men’s Soccer Completes Exhibition Against Montevallo

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB men's soccer team played its second exhibition match with a 4-3 setback against Montevallo on Wednesday night at BBVA Field.
The teams played 120 minutes, divided into four 30 minute quarters.
The Blazers scored the first two goals of the game. Joseph Buete found the back of the net in the 17th minute on an assist from Mason Robicheaux and Curtis DeLeon set up Garen Presnal's goal in the 56th minute.
The Falcons scored the next three goals before Mayno Linares got the equalizer from Jackson Bates in the 87th minute.
Montevallo scored the final goal of the contest in the 108th minute.
UAB had a chance to tie the game, but Tyrell Price's shot in the 112th minute hit the right post.
The last exhibition match will be Aug. 21 at Mercer. The season opener is Aug. 27 against Dayton in the Wolstein Classic in Columbus, Ohio. The home opener is Sept. 3 against UTRGV as part of the Soccer for the Cure event.
