St. Louis Scores Twice As UAB Defeats Mercer 3-2 in Final Exhibition

MACON, Ga. – Nathaniel St. Louis scored the equalizer and converted a penalty kick for the game-winner as UAB defeated Mercer 3-2 in the final exhibition of the season on Saturday night. The start of the contest was delayed by 25 minutes due to lightning.
Mercer stuck first on a PK in the 14th minute. St. Louis tied the contest in the 21st minute followed by a Brooks Rice goal in the 32nd minute.
St. Louis buried the game-winning PK in the 33rd minute.
Seth Torman played all 90 minutes for UAB in net.
Six of UAB's eight shots were on target. St. Louis led all players with four. Joseph Buete had a pair and Shane DeLeon and Rice each had one.
The season opener is Aug. 27 against Dayton in the Wolstein Classic in Columbus, Ohio. The home opener is Sept. 3 against UTRGV as part of the Soccer for the Cure event.
