Floyd PRs in Heptathlon at Crimson Tide Invitational

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Brittany Floyd took home the silver in the heptathlon on Friday at the Crimson Tide Invitational.
Floyd placed second in the event with a personal-best total of 5397, which also moves her into second all-time in program history. The mark places Floyd fifth in the nation this season in the heptathlon.
The Columbus, Ga. native placed second in the long jump (5.95m), third in the 100-meter hurdles (14.13) and 800-meters (2:23.48), fourth in the high jump (1.61m), 200-meters (25.12), and javelin (36.11) and eighth in shot put (11.23).
The last event of the day was the 1500-meter. In the event, Bethan Evans led the Blazers with a 38th place finish with a time of 4:46.91. Junior Britney Johnson finished closely behind with a 39th place finish, crossing the line in 4:47.91.
Competition begins tomorrow at 11 a.m. with the discus. The meet concludes with the hammer throw at 7 p.m. The final day will be streamed through SEC Network+ and live results are available by clicking here.
