Blazers Travel to Starkville for Maroon and White Invitational

BIRMINGHAM — The UAB track and field team travels to Starkville, Miss. for the final regular season meet of the season at the Maroon and White Invitational on April 30-May 1.
"We are excited to get back to competing this weekend," head coach Kurt Thomas said. "It's always tricky with athletes finishing finals, being rested and still coming out to compete on the weekend. The team has been performing well and we want to get one last solid competition in before we get to the Conference USA Championships in two weeks."

MEET INFORMATION
The hammer throw begins the meet at noon on Friday, while the first running event begins at 6 p.m. for the Blazers with the 200-meter. On Saturday, the pole vault begins the final day of the meet at 11 a.m. The first running event on Saturday is the 4x400-meter relay at 1 p.m.
WAR EAGLE INVITATIONAL RECAP
Over the two days of the War Eagle Invitational, 12 Blazers had personal-best marks. Anna Massa won her second pole vault competition of the outdoor season with a personal-best jump of 4.07-meters. Junior Lisa Petkov had a top three finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 59.61.
