UAB Softball Set For Four-Game Series with UTSA

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – For the second time this season, the UAB softball team heads to the Lone Star State. On this trip, the Blazers will go up against UTSA in a four-game Conference USA series on April 23-25 at Roadrunner Field.
LAST TIMEOUT
UAB (21-17, 8-4 C-USA) is coming off a 3-1 series win over Louisiana Tech last weekend at Mary Bowers Field, outscoring the Lady Techsters 20-14.
Jenna Olszewski had UAB's hottest bat, batting .462 with two home runs, six hits, five RBIs, three runs and a triple.
The Blazers were led in the circle by Amy Woodham, who allowed just one earned run in 11.2 innings pitched while striking out 13 batters.
SCOUTING UTSA
The Roadrunners (11-21, 5-3 C-USA) are coming off back-to-back midweek losses to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and McNesse State.
UTSA swept its last C-USA series on the road against Southern Miss in a four-game series on April 10-11.
The Roadrunners' top hitter is Celeste Loughman, who is currently batting a team-high .337. Riley Grunberg, who is batting .309, leads the team with 27 RBIs and eight home runs.
In the circle, Clarissa Hernandez has pitched a team-high 48.1 innings and holds a 4.06 ERA.
UTSA holds the 10-7 all-time series over UAB.
