UAB Baseball Set for Road Series Versus Middle Tennessee

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB baseball team heads to Murfreesboro, Tenn. for a four-game conference series against Middle Tennessee April 23-25.
SERIES SCHEDULE
Due to weather forecasted in the Murfreesboro area this weekend, the series schedule has been altered. Friday's game has moved to a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday games will be a 1 p.m. first pitch.
UAB (12-24, 5-11 C-USA) vs. MIDDLE TENNESSEE (18-16-1, 7-8-1 C-USA)
The Blazers hold the all-time record over the Blue Raiders, 43-40. UAB and Middle Tennessee have met once this season. The teams split the four-game series in Birmingham. In game one, Riley Davis threw the first shutout for the Blazers since 2017 in the 8-0 victory.

UAB LATELY
The Blazers are coming off a midweek game at No. 2 Mississippi State. In the contest, J Paul Fullerton hit his first home run of the season and had four RBIs on the day. Jonah Smith pitched a career-high 2.1 scoreless innings with a strikeout.
Chandler Simpson leads the team with .330 batting average and 17 stolen bases. He is also ranked as one of the toughest to strikeout with only five on the season.
MIDDLE TENNESSEE LATELY
The Blue Raiders are coming off a series split with Western Kentucky. Middle Tennessee took games one and two, before falling in games three and four.
Cole Escher leads the team at the plate with a .343 batting average. As a team, the Blue Raiders lead the conference with 77 stolen bases. Fausto Lopez also leads the conference with 17 steals.
RECORD WATCH
Jess Davis has 70 career stolen bases. He sits seventh in program history and needs two more steals to move into a tie for sixth with Mitch Jones (2000-03).
