UAB Women’s Golf Set for Conference USA Championship

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's golf team is set to participate in the Conference USA Championship this Monday-Wednesday, April 19-21, at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club in Dade City, Fla.
The Blazers will field a team that features freshman Emilia Smith, senior Tia Teiniketo, senior Stephenie Fowler, freshman Shelly Chen and freshman Karlee Allen.
UAB is paired with FIU and Southern Miss in the opening round and will tee off at 9 a.m. EST on holes 11-15 with a shotgun start.
The field will play 18 holes each day, however, with rain in the forecast on Tuesday, there is a potential for additional golf to be played on Monday afternoon. The course is par 72 and plays 6,267 yards.
UAB enters the tournament with an overall record of 40-68-2. The Blazers are ranked No. 135 nationally and look to finish the season with a strong postseason showing.
