TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Freshman Birthe Franck-Petersen broke the program record in the hammer throw on the final day of the Crimson Tide Invitational.
Franck-Petersen threw 49.48-meters, beating out the previous mark set by Zieandrea Bridges in 2019.
"We had another great weekend," head coach Kurt Thomas said. "Brittany (Floyd)'s heptathlon started it off and it continued today. We challenged them to show up at a big meet and perform and compete and they responded. We're very proud of them."
The 4x400 meter relay team of Karri Green, Ebony Tolliver, Regina Harris and Lisa Petkov placed second with a time of 3:44.07.
Sophomore Nia Hill tied her season-best high jump with a distance of 1.65-meters to place 14th overall.
Five Blazers had personal-best days including Franck-Petersen in the hammer, Green in the 400-meter (54.79), Alayah Dozier (24.30) and Kaylie Wright (24.90) in the 200-meter and Makiyah Sills in the 100-meter hurdles (13.90).
Over the three days of the Crimson Tide Invitational, the Blazers had eight top-10 finishes with five top-five.
Up next, UAB will make its second trip to Auburn, Ala. for the War Eagle Invitational on April 16-17. Meet information will be available at a later date.
