Tia Teiniketo Named Conference USA Golfer of the Week

BIRMINGHAM – For winning the individual title and leading the Blazers to the team championship at the UAB Spring Invitational, senior Tia Teiniketo has been named the Conference USA Golfer of the Week.
In a 36-hole rain-shortened tournament, Teiniketo was able to battle through the elements on her way to a seven stroke victory. She shot consecutive rounds of two under 70s, and finished at -4 overall. This was her second individual title of the season.
Teiniketo led the Blazers to their first team title of the season, defeating Xavier by three strokes.
"I am very excited for Tia to earn this award again," said head coach Ryan Ashburn. "She's worked extremely hard for this win and I'm eager to watch her down the stretch of this season."
This is Teiniketo's third time winning Conference USA Golfer of the Week this season and the fourth such honor of her career.
The Blazers return to the course on Friday at the Bama Beach Bash in Gulf Shores, Ala. The tournament is co-hosted with South Alabama.
