Women’s Golf Completes 36 Holes on Monday at FAU Paradise Invitational

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's golf team will enter Tuesday's final round of the FAU Paradise Invitational in a tie for 11th place after completing 36 holes on Monday at Boca Lago Country Club in Boca Raton.

The Blazers opened the day with a 304 in the first round and followed that up with a 307 in round two. UAB (+35) is four strokes behind Southern Miss entering Tuesday.

Freshman Emilia Smith led UAB on Monday with a 71-77 and is tied for 29th place at +4. Smith's 71 in the opening round tied her collegiate low 18-hole score.

Following Smith is Tia Teiniketo (77-76) and Shelly Chen (76-77) who are both tied for 42nd at +9.

Karlee Allen (80-77 = 157, +13) is tied for 52nd, and Caroline Waldrop (84-83 = 167, +23) is in 65th heading into the final round.

South Florida leads the field at -10 and is followed by Vanderbilt (-9), Maryland (-6), Michigan State (-6) and North Florida (+1).
