Blazer Rifle Prepares for NCAA Qualifiers

BIRMINGHAM – The No. 18 UAB rifle team is set to compete in NCAA Qualifiers in Statesboro, Ga. on Saturday morning, beginning at 7 a.m.
"After almost a three-week break from competition, our team is prepared to put on a good performance at NCAA Qualifiers on Saturday," head coach Lori Goodwin said.
The top eight teams nationally qualify for the annual NCAA Championship meet, held this year in Columbus, Ohio. Each team submits three match scores, in addition to its NCAA Qualifier match, to be averaged for a total qualifier score.
UAB is led in smallbore average by Zoe Lum (571.6), while Amy Kohan paces the Green and Gold in air rifle average (583.8) and aggregate average (1152.8). As a squad, UAB leads the SoCon in air rifle average at 2269.8.
Lum sits at second in the conference in smallbore average, while Kohan ranks third in the league in air rifle average and second in aggregate average.
UAB (6-1 SoCon) leads the Southern Conference and looks to defend its 2019 and 2020 conference championships this season.
