UAB Women’s Golf Set for First Coast Classic in Jacksonville

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's golf team will play its second tournament of the spring in as many weeks as the Blazers participate in the First Coast Classic this Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 15-16, in Jacksonville.
The tournament is hosted by the University of North Florida and will be played at Deerwood Country Club. The par 72 course will play 6,002 yards.
UAB is one of 12 teams in the field, which also includes: North Florida, WKU, Daytona State, South Alabama, Arkansas State, Stetson, Georgia Southern, Cincinnati, FIU, Troy and Bradley.
Head Coach Ryan Ashburn will field a team consisting of Emilia Smith, Shelly Chen, Tia Teiniketo, Karlee Allen and Stephenie Fowler. Lexie Dawson will participate as an individual.
