UAB Prepares for Final Regular Season Meet at Samford Invitational

BIRMINGHAM β The UAB track and field team makes the short trip to the Crossplex for the Samford Invitational on Friday.

The Blazers open the meet at 9 a.m. with the shot put and concludes at 5:10 p.m. with the 4x400 meter relay.

"The Samford meet is the last tune up before the C-USA Championships next weekend," head coach Kurt Thomas said. "This is a critical time, so we will take advantage of it."

Also heading to the Samford Invite are Georgia Southern, Kennesaw State, Memphis, Mercer and Western Kentucky.

The last time out, the Green and Gold traveled to Clemson for the Bob Pollock Invitational on Jan. 29 and 30.Β Brittany Floyd led the Blazers with a fifth-place in the pentathlon with 2973 points.
