UAB Rifle Posts Season-High Aggregate Score at Jacksonville State

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – The UAB rifle team posted a season-high aggregate score of 4,578 at this past weekend's JSU Invite.
Despite recording their season-high score, the Blazers finished fourth out of five teams at this past weekend's event. Murray State placed first in the competition with an aggregate score of 4,700, which was 29 points better than the next closest team.
Sophia Flores paced the Blazers for the second time this season, recording a team-best 1,156 aggregate score. Flores ranked first amongst the Blazers in the smallbore with her best smallbore tally of the year at 577. Flores also logged her second-best air rifle score of the season with a 579.
Amy Kohan ranked first in the air rifle for UAB with a score of 586. Her aggregate score of 1,155 ranked second on the team.
Maggie Vonderau rounded out the top three for the Blazers with a score of 1,136, tying her season high in the air rifle with a score of 579.
The UAB rifle team will continue its 2021-22 season in January when the Blazers open the spring campaign at Murray State on Jan. 21.
