UAB Falls in Double-Overtime Heartbreaker at No. 3 Marshall

HUNTINGTON, W.V. – The UAB men's soccer team kept a clean sheet for over 105 minutes, but a late header from Marshall's Pedro Dolabella in the 106th minute powered No. 3 Marshall to a 1-0 victory in double overtime.
UAB goalkeeper Seth Torman and the Blazers' back line kept the Green and Gold in the match against the defending national champions, keeping Marshall off the board in the first 90 minutes. Torman stopped five shots in regulation, making two saves in the first 45 minutes before registering three stops in the second half.
Torman made two more saves in the first overtime period to send the game to an additional 10 minutes. One save came via a leaping effort on a Marshall free kick from a dangerous position, pushing the ball over the cross bar.
Marshall (8-1-3) fired 27 shots, only eight of which were on target.
The Blazers will return home to BBVA Field on Saturday when they host Florida Atlantic. Kickoff for Saturday's home match is 7 p.m.
