UAB Falls in Three Sets To North Texas

BIRMINGHAM- The UAB Volleyball team fell in three sets to North Texas tonight in Bartow Arena. The Blazers will drop to 8-9, 3-2 on the season.
The first set was a physical affair, with each team delivering quick kills and strong offensive performances. Eventually, North Texas (12-8, 5-2) capitalized on a strong scoring run and closed out the set, 25-17.
The second set was a back and forth one, with each team trading blocks, kills, and service aces. UAB had a flurry of scoring in the second to get within two points at one point, but eventually the Mean Green came out on top 25-21.
The third set didn't go in the Blazers favor, with North Texas taking an early lead, and putting the game out of reach in the end with a five point scoring run to win the set 25-11, and the match 3-0.
Fernanda Maida had 15 kills, and Alex Kells had eight. Erin Powers chipped in 14 digs.
The Blazers will play the Mean Green again tomorrow, at 1 p.m. in Bartow Arena.
