UAB Cross Country Hosts Blazer Classic at Veterans Park

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB cross country team is set to host the annual Blazer Classic on Saturday, Oct. 16.
The competition is set to take place at Veterans Park in Hoover, Ala. at 8:30 a.m. starting with the women's 6k and ending with the men's 8k race at 9:15 a.m. Admission for the meet is free and open to the public.
Competing with UAB is C-USA opponent WKU, along with Belmont, Birmingham Southern, Clemson, Kennesaw State, Memphis, North Alabama, Samford, Tulane and Vanderbilt.
The Blazers are coming off a 6th place finish at the Louisville Cross Country Classic. The trio of Agok Ayuen (12th, 18:42.8), Laura Thompson (20th, 18:51.0) and Lauren Robinson (29th, 19:01.7) paced the way for the Green and Gold in the meet.
