UAB Rifle Set for Three SoCon Matches at The Citadel

BIRMINGHAM - The two-time defending Southern Conference champion UAB rifle team heads to Charleston, S.C. for three conference-designated matches on Saturday.
"This weekend will look a little more different for us than a normal match looks," head coach Lori Goodwin said. "I think our team is ready for this somewhat unique challenge."
UAB, The Citadel and VMI will all be on-site competing in the match, which serves as the Blazers' conference tilt against each squad. The Green and Gold will also use Saturday's score as its conference match against Wofford, which will be held virtually.
Amy Kohan, Sophia Flores, Jordan Blankenship, Zoe Lum, Tommy Loring, Claire Vonderau and Maggie Vonderau will all make the trip to South Carolina. Kohan paces the team in air rifle average (583) and aggregate average (1153), and is tied for first on the squad in air rifle average with Lum (570).
Following this weekend's match, UAB returns to the range on Feb. 20 for NCAA Qualifiers at Georgia Southern in Statesboro, Ga.
