UAB Women’s Soccer Teams Up With Soccer United Against Hunger
6/1/2020 7:06:00 PM | Women's Soccer
BIRMINGHAM - Coaches and players from the UAB women's soccer team are joining other soccer programs from around the country in Soccer United Against Hunger, a nationwide food drive spearheaded by NCAA men's and women's soccer coaches.
Members of the Blazers soccer team are collecting food items and/or monetary donations to be donated to Community Food Bank of Central Alabama.
Food banks and pantries across the country have seen soaring need as nearly 40 million Americans applied for unemployment over the last 60 days, while simultaneously seeing a steep drop-off in cash and food donations.
Blazers keeper and Birmingham native Sarah Francis Adair had taken lead on this project and is the point of contact for any questions or donations (food or monetary). She can be reached at SFAdair@uab.edu - you can also donate here.
Soccer United Against Hunger, powered by United Soccer Coaches, is taking place throughout the month of June to support food banks and food pantries across America.
