UAB Finishes Undefeated in SoCon With Victory at Wofford

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The defending Southern Conference Champion UAB rifle team wrapped up league play with a 4575-4451 win at Wofford on Saturday afternoon, finishing 7-0 in conference play.
"This match was a great display for our team," head coach Lori Goodwin said. "We are getting ready and looking forward to qualifiers and this match was good for us to gear up."
Sophia Flores shot 576 in smallbore, a personal best, and 574 in air rifle for an aggregate score of 1150, good for first overall. Amy Kohan and Jordan Blankenship finished in second and third, shooting 1147 and 1140, respectively, while Zoe Lum claimed the No. 4 spot by shooting 1138.
Kohan finished second in both smallbore (571) and air rifle (576). Freshman Maggie Vonderau tied Kohan in the air rifle category with a 576 as well, while her sister Lilly Vonderau finished sixth in air rifle, posting a score of 571.
The Blazers are all alone in first place in the SoCon, leading North Georgia, Georgia Southern, VMI, The Citadel and Wofford.
