Men’s Tennis Hosts Chattanooga in First Home Match

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB men's tennis team is set to play host to Chattanooga on Sunday at the UAB Campus Courts in its first home match of the spring season, with the match set to begin at 1 p.m.

The Blazers (0-2, 0-0 C-USA) have faced off against the Mocs seven previous times and hold a 6-1 advantage in the all-time series. The teams last met on Feb. 27, 2009 in Birmingham, with UAB coming away victorious, 5-1.

UAB is coming off a match in which it claimed the doubles point against Alabama with wins by Nikolai Manchev/Tom el Safadi and Giovani Pasini/Daniel Janko before ultimately dropping the match to the Crimson Tide. Chattanooga also faced Alabama in Tuscaloosa, falling 6-1.

Chattanooga (3-1, 0-0 SoCon) hosts Presbyterian on Saturday before traveling to Birmingham for Sunday's match.

Following Sunday's match, the Blazers return to the courts on Friday as they host North Alabama at 1 p.m.
