Men’s Tennis Opens Fall Slate at Mercer

BIRMINGHAM - The UAB men's tennis team hits the road to Macon, Ga. on Friday for the opening tournament of the fall season for the Blazers.
The Gridiron Classic, hosted by Mercer, is set to feature players from UAB, Troy, Georgia Southern, South Alabama and the hosting Bears. The tournament is set to begin at 9 a.m. on Friday and will conclude Sunday.
UAB's Parker Bradbary, Chase Parker and Giovani Pasini will make the short trip east for the weekend event and will team up with Troy's Vito Linares, Christopher Tasker, Antonio Selma and Jorge Poyatos to form a full squad.
Pasini will play in the No. 4 singles slot, while Bradbary is set to hold down the No. 6 position for the combination Blazer-Trojan team. Pasini and Bradbary will also play together in the No. 2 doubles position.
Following this weekend's event, UAB will return to the courts Oct. 9-11 in Murfreesboro, Tenn. for the Buck Bouldin Battle of the Boro, hosted by Middle Tennessee.
