Weekend Competition Complete for Rifle

BIRMINGHAM – The defending Southern Conference champion UAB rifle team's weekend competitions are complete, as shooting at Murray State wrapped up on Sunday afternoon.
UAB finished in sixth place with an aggregate score of 4605, picking up a conference win against North Georgia and moving to 6-0 in league play. The Blazers stand alone in first place in the SoCon standings.
The Green and Gold finished just behind UT-Martin on Saturday in a match between the Blazers and the Skyhawks. UAB completed the match with an aggregate score of 4553, while host UT-Martin posted a 4573.
Freshman Amy Kohan continued her hot shooting in Martin, finishing second overall, boasting an aggregate total of 1146, shooting 568 in smallbore and 578 in air rifle. Sophia Flores finished second in smallbore, posting 572 in the event while finishing fifth overall with an aggregate score of 1138.

UAB returns to the range on Feb. 1 at Wofford as it takes on the Terriers in Spartanburg, S.C.
