Rifle Opens Spring at Murray State and UT-Martin

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB rifle team heads north to Kentucky and Tennessee to open the spring season on Friday and Saturday at Murray State and UT-Martin, respectively.
"I am ready to get this spring portion of our season going," head coach Lori Goodwin said. "Our student-athletes are prepared and ready to shoot well this weekend."
The match on Friday at Murray State features seven teams in addition to the Green and Gold, including Kentucky, North Carolina State, North Georgia, UT-Martin, Memphis, Jacksonville State and the hosting Racers.
Saturday's match in Tennessee pits the defending Southern Conference champion Blazers against the Skyhawks of UT-Martin.
Sophia Flores leads the way for the Blazers in aggregate average and smallbore average, shooting 1137.334 and 564.167, respectively. Freshman Amy Kohan paces UAB in air rifle average with a mark of 574.667.
