Men’s Golf Sits in Sixth After 18 Holes at Jim Rivers Intercollegiate

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB men's golf team shot a collective +3 and is currently in sixth place after the opening 18 holes of the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate hosted by Louisiana Tech.
Defending champion William Walker III shot -1 in the first round and is tied for 12th with 36 holes remaining. Redshirt junior Ben Reichert is one shot behind Walker III at even par and is tied for 22nd overall.
Sophomore Ethan Hagood shot +1 and is tied for 26th, while senior Murray Naysmith carded a three-over 75 and is tied for 44th.
Rounding out the UAB efforts was freshman Khavish Varadan who shot seven-over par.
Lamar is leading the field at -8 and has a three shot lead over Georgia (-5). Individually, Lamar's Dino Capazario shot -5 and is the leader in the clubhouse. He has a two shot lead over five players.
